Unsafe Sunny Days by Ashwings Unsafe Sunny Days by Ashwings
Milo and his twin sisters. It's a beautiful sunny day but undead dangers may lurk in the tall grass.

Want to stress the fact that even though its called 'the wastelands' in most areas nature has completely taken over, and is slowly undoing mans stamp on the world, leaving beautiful rolling hills, blue skys, and flowers etc, a complete contrast to the walking dead and the rather bleak and terrifying reality that this new world is.

blah blah, colors might be a little hard and acidic on the eyes x_x blah, overall I am happy with it.

Its almost 3 am! Off to bed with meeee.

Did you know that the name Milo means "soldier"?

I've been following your webcomic. You're too amazing.

And have a knack for facial expressions and though you have a definite style, you're characters do not all look alike like some artist's characters tend to do.

I know it's the 'whiskers' of the stuffed rabbit but it still looks like it's chomping on the carried girl's arm. (which even though I'm guessing it's accidental gives it a slightly hidden sense of menace.)

I don't know why, but I just love the way the ground and sky seem to curve around Milo and the twins. It just makes it seem like a moment captured in time.

i tried not to be too specific with where I found him, least I spoiled someone OxO

but anyway! wonderful pic... I find especially eye caching the ensemble of the girl on her feet, the pink skirt and the red sweater, + the cowgirl boots... much too wonderful! I'm also loving how your comic is going, it's amazing how much has your style changed from the first page you put up (and I mean thee VERY first ones!)

The title reminds me of something my girlfriend says to me.
She has the most unsafe feeling on sundays, and days that are particularly sunny.

sorry about this ^^' but I think I over thought the second part too much it was a lot simpler than I though but I'm glad I worked it out for myself :B (marks in own mind for reference) 'tis just that the majority of bulk is around the edges clouds are at the sides of the picture, the land is thickest at the sides and the foreground sinks back in the middle like it's 'there' as a stage solely in preparation for the characters that were going to be drawn later on that you knew were going to be in the middle of the picture D: ... You may not even appreciate my thoughts ;p but it's not like I know if you will or not. Thankfully though It's much easier to brush off a long comment than it is to write one : '

I really love your work, and I admire your skill very much. However, (and I'm sure you know this already, but I wanted to point it out) The proportions on the children need work, you seem to be working as the medieval artists worked, making the children look like tiny adults, this isn't true to form. Childrens heads are bigger in proportion to the rest of their body. I also notice how thin and petit the legs and feet are on the girls, and this may be due to the fact that they are undernourished, but it does look a little strange proportionally in either case. Anyway, all I'm saying is that you should have a look at accurate childrens proportions and introduce it into your already mind blowing art work.

keep up the good work!

I was just about to suggestively point out the same thing dr-k-atterin but thankfully I've developed a habit of reading every single post before/if I post myself. The other thing I wanted to mention solely in case you are interested. Is that the background seems to carry the feel as if it were viewed in a fish eye lens. What's doing this I think from looking at the picture for a bit is two things one and the most key point being the cloud on the right that is seemingly rolling down the hillside. Very nice artistically :3 but you've made the cloud move down the hillside like it's a solid mass and it's leaning left in its entirety downhill like it's on a roller coaster.

The second point took me a bit longer to figure out what exactly was going on and I'm still not entirely sure how it works but It feels like your figures who have a different shading and hue/colour palette and have been blended in to match enough to satisfy kind of ;d not sure how but pinches the eyes focus and sucks the colours away from the background into them D: I'm sure as far as separating background and the focus goes it works, but it works a bit too well if you notice it too and coupled with the cloud.

Overall though I adore the work on the background, the colours are gorgeous and really brings you in. The birds also give a great sense of depth.
